Success for
Hong Kong ‘A’ against China in the first stage of proceedings
in the Junior Boys’ Team event at the Nikon 2015 Hong Kong
Junior and Cadet Open, by three matches to one, was the result
that caught the eye.
First place
in the group for the top seeds may not appear at first glance
to be a result to attract the attention but when one of the
outfits to be overcome bears the name China, then securing the
valuable top spot become quite an achievement.
The hosts
alongside Japan, the top two seeds, both concluded the first
day of proceedings, Wednesday 5th August, in first positions
in their respective groups at the Nikon 2015 Hong Kong Junior
and Cadet Open.
A place in
the Finals, to be staged early next year in January, is very
much within the reach of Japan’s Rira Ishikawa and Ayane
Morita; they are the two highest World ranked players on duty
at the Nikon 2015 HK Junior & Cadet Open.
