On behalf of the Hong Kong Table Tennis Association, I welcome all
the players, officials and supporters to the “Seamaster 2018 ITTF
World Tour – Hang Seng Hong Kong Open “ which is the World Tour
event first ever held in Hong Kong.

Bringing international table tennis tournaments to Hong Kong
is always one of the missions of the Hong Kong Table Tennis
Association. Hong Kong athletes have performed remarkably well in
major international competitions in recent years. The successful bid
to host the prominent World Tour in Hong Kong this year is another
achievement of the Association.

The event will bring together around 190 players from 34 countries
and regions to battle for the top spot on the podium. Our local players
will have an invaluable opportunity to compete themselves against the
best from across the globe. I am confident that fans from near and
far are going to be captivated by a series of thrilling matches played
at the highest level.

My sincere thanks to ITTF for the sanction of the event, the support
given by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong,
China, the Home Affairs Bureau, the Leisure & Cultural Services
Department, the event title sponsor Hang Seng Bank, all our
supporting sponsors, and the members of the Organizing Committee.
Your tremendous support and dedication ensure the tournament a
successful one. We will be continuously devoting to bring more world-
class table tennis tournaments to Hong Kong.
I am sure the tournament will be a memorable one for the players,
coaches, officials, technical delegates and all accompanying persons.
